Simply Theatre is thrilled to be coming back to the theatre after what seemed like an eternity. We are delighted to be able to present James Sherman’s hilarious comedy/farce to the patrons of the Pumphouse Theatre this coming October. Seating will be socially spaced and safe for all audience members to enjoy but seating is limited so get your tickets soon!
Sarah is a nice Jewish girl with a problem: her parents want her married to a nice Jewish boy. They have never met her boyfriend, a WASP executive named Chris. She tells them she is dating a Jewish doctor and they insist on meeting him. She plans a dinner party and, over the heated protests of Chris, employs an escort service to send her a Jewish date to be Dr. Steinberg. Instead, they send Bob Schroeder, an aspiring actor who agrees to perform the impersonation. Happily, he is extremely convincing in the role and Sarah’s parents are enraptured. Will Sarah fall for Bob too, and what about Chris?
Covid notes: – Audience will need to be fully vaccinated and proof of vaccination will be requested at the theatre. – Face masks will be required at all times, in all areas except when actively performing, when stationary at a workstation or when eating/drinking.
